I often do a modelling call out on my Facebook page when there is a technique I wish to try, a pose I want to practice, or (most of the time) when I get some fun new props I want to try out. This year, being new to the area of Hastings, I not only wanted to do all of the above, but also to get my business name out there to the public. What better way to get out there and practice my trade than a model call.
I had several ideas...some for a boy and some for a girl. Luckily this fantastic couple had just given birth to a surprise little girl. She was perfect!
With Model calls I don't do a planning consultation....the images are for me to practice. However, I do always offer a gift to my clients, and after hearing this family's story....I knew what we were going to do for their gift.
You see, Baby Quinn is a Rainbow baby. If you are unfamiliar with that term, a Rainbow Baby is a child born after a loss of another child due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or other tragedy. Miss Quinn's big brother had past away the year prior, and she is now the shining light after a tragic loss. I knew we had to celebrate her and her brother's lives in a special way.
So after achieving several shots that were on my "to do" list, I set up for the rainbow shot. Mom had even brought a weighted bear and photograph in remembrance of her son, making this image even more special.
