So a lot of people don't know that I have lived in a multitude of places. For college, for my husband work...but this means I get to have friend and clients all over the country! And I now have friends that have kiddos becoming Seniors in High School, so some of them are contacting me to travel all over for photos. Of course I'm going to do that! Ha! This beautiful girl is so like her amazing momma bear too. So glad I was able to come down to Kansas and capture this special time for them.

This family was simply adorable for their outdoor photo session. They truly brought the best smiles, and mother nature brought the BEST lighting! I am absolutely in love with all of their images, but here are just a few of my favorites below...

Ok...I have to start this post off with "I cried!" Yep. When Anne and her amazing husband, Bert, called to tell me they were pregnant. I cried! I bawled like a baby! They have been trying for SO long, and suffered so many losses. The news that IVF finally worked, and they were having a baby...my heart filled with joy and it poured out my eyes. LOL This is the baby they have dreamed of. This is the child they prayed for. I am so honored to call them my friends, to be the honorary Auntie to their new little boy, and to be the photographer that captured this magical time for them.

Oh this precious little munchkin is turning ONE! I can not believe that it's been a year already, so we had to get some updated family portraits to go with this super fun fall cake smash session. A few quick shots outside of our studio, and then inside for lots of fun and destruction of a cake. LOL

This couple is SO special to my heart. My dear friend Anne has been friends with me since first year of college, and so I have known her amazing parents for about as long. This year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, so we needed to show off and celebrate this momentous occasion with some portraits. This meant a trip down to Manhattan, KS...my favorite place in the world! The Snyder's are absolutely the sweetest couple, and full of laughs. To say this session is one of my favorites of all time, would be an understatement. Love!!!

Extended family session are truly near-and-dear to my heart. They bring generations together for moments that don't happen every day. For this amazing family, they are so lucky to have each other close by to share in each others lives. But these portraits...these are truly memorable! Even if the day was a bit windy, and the kiddos had ideas of their own, we still captured some precious moments.

I truly adore when families come in to the studio with a vision of what they want their images to be. Magical, dreamy, romantic, airy, soft...whatever the adjective is...I try to accommodate. This beautiful momma came in with a truly amazing vision for her family photos, and we made that dream a reality for sure. Check out a few of my faves below from this stunning outdoor family portrait session!

It's always so exciting to me when I get to do a sibling of another client. Miss Julie was absolute perfection for her Senior Portraits this year...just a couple years after her sister! Another beautiful girl with amazing portrait memories of her senior year of high school. Love!

What could possibly be better than a stunning high school senior...and her lovely horse? The amazing Miss Caitlin brought not only one beautiful horse, but THREE of her beautiful horses to her session to create very special senior portraits for her.

Senior portraits are always so special for me. Each session needs to reflect the young adults personality and personal style. Sometimes they bring pets, awards, books, flowers, etc, and this beautiful girl truly brought all that makes her unique. A bit of drama, a bit of "nerd" (her word), and a whole lot of stunning smiles.

My destination sessions to Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada are some of my most favorite sessions to do all year.
And not just because of the nice warm climate!
I thoroughly enjoy capturing the desert landscapes and colors. The warmth it brings to photographs.
And it creates beautiful backdrops for family photo sessions!
I hope you enjoy this lovely family destination session as much as I enjoyed taking it!

October is always such a busy month for photographers. Family sessions and Senior Portraits abound!
And want to know a secret...
Photographers LOVE IT! We do!
We love this time of year with the colors, the families preparing for the holidays, Seniors starting their final year of High School. A season full of changes and love.
For this family, their love and joy abounds in every image. Even through the loss of a child, they have come through, stronger than ever. They cling to their faith, their fantastic sense of humors, and most of all their love.
I am honored to have been able to capture this time in their lives.
Kearney, NE
I get asked quite often..."Do you take photo sessions in Kearney?" or "Do you we need to come to your studio for a session?"
First...I LOVE to travel, and so long as you are in a 50-60 mile radius of Hastings, NE...there is no travel fee. Plus, Kearney is like my second home town and I Love to do session at the amazing parks they have around.
Never worry about having to come to me for a session. I am always happy to come to you and capture you in a location of your choosing.
Now...this awesome family was supposed to be a full family session with mom and dad. Unfortunately, dad got called into work at the last minute, so we opted to do a session of just the kiddos. And what a WONDERFUL session it turned out to be!
Check out just a few of my favorites from their session below, and if you are interested in a gorgeous family session in the Kearney area...just drop me a message. I would love to capture your family's loving moments!

When we moved to Nebraska we realized the business would need to start over from scratch. That our kids might struggle to make friends. That we might struggle to make friends. But because of this wonderful family our worries washed away.
The Ernst family has truly become great friends, and it was my pleasure this year to give them the gift of a Family Portrait session. We headed out to Prairie Lake State Recreation area for some amazing sunset photos.

I love to travel around the country photographing my fantastic clients. I especially love to travel all over this great state of Nebraska for sessions. But it isn't often I actually get to photograph my own extended family. So when my mom said she wanted new photos of her and dad done for their holiday cards this year, I jumped at the opportunity!
We planned their session to be held at their home and surrounding area. She said "I want the photos to truly represent us." and what better place to have them taken than in your home town.
My parents have always been cuddly. Holding hands, giving little kisses, big bear hugs....and they love to laugh. Yet when we started the session they weren't giving me true smiles and seemed a little stiff in the poses. So we walked around a bit...and as they talked and we laughed....they became very comfortable in front of the camera. Allowing me the opportunity to capture images of my parents that truly show their love for each other.
Here are just a few of my favorites from their amazing session. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

As you can probably tell from my website and blog....I'm a baby photographer. Anything baby related, I'm game! But it wasn't always that way. I actually started my business doing Weddings, Engagements, and Senior portraits. However, it's been AWHILE since I was hired to photograph any of the above.
In July, the lovely Miss Deanna and her mom contacted me about possibly doing Senior photos. I was very excited! A little nervous, as it had been several years since I had done a fun Senior Session, but excited nonetheless.
We made a plan for the end of August to do 2 days worth of photos....one with a friends horse and the next day with everything else. However, day one didn't quite go as planned and the friends horse didn't seem to want photos taken. Within a few minutes of arriving she had the horse ready, got on its back, and it promptly bucked her off, stomped around and trampled her. Not a single photos taken and I was terrified that she had been seriously injured.
Luckily, she walked away with a cracked tooth and a few scrapes and bruises. Her make-up ruined from tears, clothes torn, and covered in dirt. It was definitely the end of the photo session, and not what any of us had planned. So we rescheduled for October to give her some time to heal.
When October rolled around we had one day, two locations, and several changes of clothes to get done....all before she had to be at the Homecoming dance that evening. Phew! It was definitely a whirlwind. But the day went perfectly....a better trained horse was used....and the photos came out amazing.

I love this little man for so many reasons. Now, I haven't had the opportunity to photograph him as much as I would have liked, but he is so special to me anyway. You see his beautiful momma and I were pregnant together. Our babies are just 7 months apart in age, and that creates a bond. Miss Rebecca is a wonderful friend, and her little man is A.Dor.Able!
Sir Xander has just turned 6. He is so full of personality. Silly smiles, striking poses, and giggling himself silly. It was so much fun!
But I had to get Miss Rebecca in on this. She is the mom that is always behind the camera, snapping photos of her family. So she needed some photos of her and her little man. Every mom needs these photos. Every mom needs to have photos of them laughing and giving smoochies to their kiddos. Your kids need these photos. These images show them just how much you loved them in that moment and always. So special!
